5 months

Its so hard to believe that my sweet baby is 5 months old today! I love every minute with her! She's the sweetest little thing...well big thing. Today she weighed 17 lbs. 12.8 oz and is 28 inches long. She's a very social baby and loves to smile and "chat" with people. This month she started sticking her tongue out and making a sort of spitting noise. She also loves to take off her socks and put anything soft in her mouth. She cut another tooth 15 days after the first one so she's got the cutest smile with her two bottom teeth. She also rolled over from tummy to back and back to tummy. She loves being on the floor and playing under any type of play gym. She doesn't sleep through the night yet. She is getting up between 1-2 am and sometimes wants to eat again at 3:30 and 5:30. She usually naps one long nap a day and does a few short ones throughout the day but its not uncommon for her to skip several naps or only do one or two naps a day. She doesn't want to miss any of the action! She loves to eat and is eating 5 oz at a time every 3-4 hours. She's such a happy baby but if she's tired she has a little screaming fit but wakes up super smiley everyday.
I love being Kambrie's mom! I can't even imagine what my life was like without her. She's such a good baby!

Pintrest Projects and Kambrie's Room

I am addicted to Pintrest! Its a great website where you can find and organize your favorite things. I have found some great project ideas and recipes. This week while on spring break I decided to dive in and try a few projects.
I've always wanted to have letters with Kambrie's name on it for her room. Since her name is so long it would cost a lot so I decided to make them. I went to Michael's to get some supplies and here's how they turned out.
Project #1: Name letters

The next project I found was adding scrapbook paper to clear plastic bins. They were so easy to do and turned out great!
Project #2: Decorative plastic bins

Here are some fun pictures of her room. It only took me 4 months to finish!

4 Months!

My sweet baby Kambrie is 4 months old today! So hard to believe. Its been an amazing 4 months and I didn't think it was possible to fall more in love with her everyday. She's the sweetest baby.
Last week she cut her first tooth! So hard to believe!

She loves to play under a playgym and grab at hanging toys. Since she's been teething she loves to put everything in her mouth. Her favorite is her burp rag. She goes to daycare and loves to watch the other babies and visit with her teachers. She hates naps and going to bed! She usually takes one long nap (1-3 hours) and the rest are 40 minute mini-naps. She is still getting up at least once a night if not more. I think she misses her mommy and daddy! She loves to rock and snuggle and talk. She eats every 3 hours and has been taking 5 oz at a time! She's been a great nurser and LOVES to eat! She is also so in love with her daddy! When he walks by she follows him with the biggest grin on her face. I know the feeling is mutual!

The past 4 months have been amazing! I love you, Kambrie Kate! You are a true blessing and I'm so happy to have you as my daughter!

It's been so long!

Wow! I was just looking at the last time I blogged and it was in 2009!! I was just getting started and I really didn't feel like me life was interesting enough to blog. So much has happened since then! I married my best friend on June 19, 2010. It was the most perfect and beautiful day! I am enjoying married life so much! Its amazing to have the love of your life around every single day and I fall in love with him more and more everyday!
On October 8, 2011 I was given an amazing gift! Bryan and I welcomed a daughter! Kambrie Kate joined our family weighing in at 9 lbs 15 oz and measuring 21.5 inches long! She is such a good baby and I enjoy every minute with her. Time flies! She will be 4 months on Wed! More pics and stories to come!
My plan is to attempt to blog once a week. My good friend religiously blogs and has inspired me to continue. I'm going to have to figure out how to upload pics and make it all fancy!

Swenson-Heston Home

Last summer, Bryan and I decided to build a house in Fargo. It was such an exciting process getting to pick out everything and watching from the ground up. Bryan was a little more involved with the construction than I was. He did all of the concrete work (the basement, driveway, sidewalks, etc.) We have been living in our house for almost a year now. Its so exciting to have a place of our own. My sister is now living with us for a little while, as she finishes up college. We really enjoy being a homeowner!

Our Story

I figured that since I am in the middle of wedding planning, I thought I would blog about the story of Bryan and Mya. We've been together for over 5 years and engaged for nearly a year. I've been thinking back to when we met, etc. So here's our story:
The first time I met Bryan was in the spring of 2000. He was a friend of a friend and my friend was in town so we all met for supper at Perkins in Fargo. I was not looking for a boyfriend at the time so we just talked and had supper. The next time we got together was in May of 2003 when the same mutual friends were in town and this time, we hit it off. We hung out that night and exchanged phone numbers. After calling each other a few times we decided to hang out and have been together ever since. I know its sounds "cliche" but I knew on our first date he was the man I was going to marry. I immediately fell in love with his personality. He's such a kind, caring, and loving person. We got engaged on Dec. 31, 2009. I am looking forward to our wedding on June 19th. I can't wait to continue this journey with him!
